Funny in Falkirk comedy festival returns for a fourth year and promises its most International line up to date alongside some of Scotland’s funniest comics

Comedians from around the world will again descend on the Forth Valley for the 4th edition of Funny in Falkirk. The central hub of the festival is in Falkirk but, as always, shows are taking place in venues across the region including Grangemouth, Stenhousemuir and Bo’ness. This year they are launching an early bird discount ticket scheme.

They have one of their strongest ever line-ups with the likes of David Baddiel returning to the stage after a 15 year hiatus, Phoenix Nights star Dave Spikey and the comical genius and actor that is Dylan Moran.

Rosie Kane debuts with a hilarious story of how she stumbled into the Scottish parliament as a socialist MSP, Vladimir McTavish Keir McAllister look cynically at ‘The State of Britain’ as Scotland prepares for the referendum and Fred Macaulay returns, taking a break from presenting, with two consecutive shows previewing his brand new material, ‘25 Fringes’.

They have an array of international talent including the, subversive UK/Iranian stand up Omid Djalili. African comic Daliso Chopanda presents his brand new ‘Laughrica’ show and everybody’s favourite husky, Glenn Wool from Canada, drops by to present ‘This Road has Tolls’. The ever so awkward but deliriously funny Norwegian talent Daniel Simonsen also features having recently received a very warm response to his appearance on Russell Howard’s BBC show.

Loads of Aussie comics will be touching down too including Damian Clark, Ro Campbell and Felicity Ward teams up with Will Franken from San Francisco for a double bill.

In addition to the stand up, there are some theatre and music based performances at this year’s festival including the comedy adaptation of Des Dillon’s, ‘Singin’ I’m No a Billy, He’s a Tim’Lady Carol’s much lauded comedy cabaret and Dave Anderson’s ‘Butterfly Kiss’.

The ‘Funny in Art’ exhibition returns for a second year based at The Howgate Shopping Centre and promises a selection of ‘Guess Who’ comic portfolio shots of years gone by plus interactive art and games for kids and parents alike.
