Two Edinburgh men – Thomas Lynch and David Marshall – have young kids, and from their own experiences of being new fathers they have identified that there is no specific group for dads. A dad’s playgroup, as it were, so they decided to set up their own, Edinburgh’s first.

In the two months since they started they have been busy networking and raising the group’s profile, as the only free playgroup, where dads can spend time with their kids, building the bonds between them and learning through play. They believe that dads bring a unique aspect to parenting and at times can be ignored either by medical or teaching professionals.

The City of Edinburgh Council have kindly gifted them a free space in Gate 55 Hub on Sighthill Road and also offered monthly story telling sessions. Which launch roundabout now.
