WORLDWIDE #JELLYWEEK 2012 is a self-organized global gathering of people all around the planet. These gatherings are called jelly, that is a informal collaboration at a café, public place, office or co-working space.
The jellies will connect via skype chat, Google hangout etc. We are looking forward, what emerges from our experiences, skills and collective intelligence. For sure there are some projects to be crowd sourced, some experiences and wisdom to be exchanged.

Jellies – how does this work?

EVERYBODY is invited to start a jelly at his place and to invite co-workers from all over the world. Push your local co-working initiatives and develop ideas and actions to connect the global community! JELLY is a casual working event. People are coming together (in a person’s home, a coffee shop, a public space or an office) to work for the day. Bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition.

Kick start for 2012 with the free Social Innovators’ Jelly – collaborative co-working collective

Edinburgh, 19-01-2012, 9am – 5pm at The Melting Pot.

Scotland’s Social Innovators are invited to convene at The Melting Pot for a very special ‘Jelly’ day this January – as part of World Jelly Week, which sees hundreds of events in 28 countries across the globe join to make the co-working movement visible!

What’s a Jelly? It’s a casual co-working event where people can collaborate, share tips, swap ideas and simply get down to business.  Working on your own can be a little isolating, especially with the nights growing dark earlier and earlier. A Jelly is a way to brighten up your working life by getting together with and working alongside other interesting people.

The Melting Pot together with a number of social enterprise support partners, are hosting a special collaborative Jelly day, giving people access to a wide range of resources which are needed to realise their ideas for a better world. Participants will be able to use our co-working space and resources for free throughout the day (from an hour to the full day – whatever you need), but also have access to a range of 1-2-1 business support surgeries including:

– Business Development support with FirstPort
– Personal Learn needs assessment with Social Enterprise Academy
– General Business advice and problem solving with Community Enterprise

Spaces are limited on the day, and advice surgeries are best booked to avoid disappointment. To book your free tickets to attend the upcoming Edinburgh Social Innovators Jelly visit where you’ll also be able to see all the latest news, specific information & attendees. You can also follow The Melting Pot Jelly on Twitter or Facebook too.

Or alternately email to reserve your place and book your slot with one of their advisors.

About Melting Pot

The Melting Pot aims to stimulate and support social innovation – helping people realise their ideas for a better world. They provide spaces and services that enable individuals and organisations to work, connect, learn, meet and hold events. The only facility of its type in Scotland, it’s a not-for-profit social enterprise located in the heart of Edinburgh.

Claire Carpenter, Founder and Managing director of The Melting Pot says:

“The Melting Pot has been a pioneer of co-working in Scotland for the past 4 years, supporting people and organisations at all stages of their business life-cycle. Although we regularly hold free trial open days, we jumped at the chance to do something extra special as part of this series of global Jelly events. Our Social Innovator’s Jelly will enable participants to access a range of resources for free throughout the day including our co-working space, a range of professional advice and learning opportunities through our partners, and to make connections with others on the day.

There’s tremendous value in co-working and collaboration, such as increased motivation and enhanced wellbeing, diverse networks and connections, reduced and flexible operating costs, greater efficiencies.  People do business and make friends with their co-working peers, but there’s none of the usual office politics. We want to help people kick-start their plans for the new year, and invite anyone who is interested in making social change happen to come in.”
